Finishing

Finishing is the phase of the production process that immediately follows printing. For example, the cutting for packaging, wrapping and checking, and packaging phases. It is necessary to give the final appearance to a product, making it ready for shipping and delivery to the customer.

The finishing operations of a semi-finished product can be grouped in three categories: bookbinding, paper converting and final packaging. Bookbinding is used for books and magazines. It consists in adopting the most suitable binding for each product. Paper converting is used for labels, displays, envelopes and especially boxes. It consists in cutting, folding or assembling each product. The final phase consists in wrapping, packing and shipping the products.
