There are various drying processes for printing ink, which could change according to the equipment used and the inks we need to be dried. These are the main drying processes used in the printing industry.
A drying process that uses electromagnetic waves, able to quickly dry the ink used for printing, in some cases instantaneously. The electromagnetic radiations used for this purpose could be UV, EB, IR or RF.
EB Drying, where EB stands for electron beam, is a type of accelerated drying, similar to UV, which does not necessarily have to be used in combination with inks and inks previously formulated to react with radiations. However EB Drying needs bulky and more expensive equipments than those used for UV drying.
IR drying is quick drying that uses infrared radiations (IR) to heat the printed surface. It’s not an instant drying method.
It’s a type of drying that involves radio frequency wavelengths (RF stands for radio frequency) that heat and dry water-based or alcohol-based inks.
A type of accelerated drying which uses UV radiations to quickly dry inks, made especially to react with electromagnetic waves.
