A very smooth, semi-transparent, and grease-resistant paper produced through a calendering process that compacts and polishes the fibers. It is used as packaging material to protect contents from moisture, dust, and oils while still allowing partial visibility. In the self-adhesive paper sector, glassine serves as the release liner: its treated surface enables controlled adhesive release, ensuring stability during printing, die-cutting, and label application.
